Hitachi Software in the News Hitachi Software Adds New Instant Install Flushmount Bracket for Podium Installation of StarBoard® T-15XL Interactive Presentation System LAS VEGAS, NEVADA, April 18, 2005 — With the unprecedented success of the Hitachi Software StarBoard T-15XL interactive LCD presentation system in a wide array of education, governmental and corporate applications, Hitachi Software today introduced a new Flushmount Bracket that enables easy podium installation. “As popularity of the T-15XL interactive LCD panel has grown,” said Ralph Zak, Director, Hitachi Software Engineering America, “our customers have looked for different ways to customize how it fits into their rooms on a physical basis. The new Flushmount Bracket allows the T-15XL to be quickly, securely and easily installed in a podium. The new Flushmount Bracket for the T-15XL is a two-piece design comprised of a lower steel housing and an upper cover plate, both precisely sized for the T-15XL. The lower steel panel is complete with back cutouts for ventilation and easy cable connections. The cover plate includes cutouts for the embedded speakers and the T-15XL push button controls. Installation is instantaneous. The lower unit is mounted on the podium surface by dropping the unit into a hole cut for the lower housing and over four drilled holes in the podium surface for attachment studs. The upper piece connects quickly and easily by simply sliding the two together and securing them with studs attached to the cover plate that quickly match up with the lower housing and holes drilled in the mounting surface. The new Flushmount Bracket allows for a more secure and naturally adjustable interaction with the LCD screen making for a more productive and stress free presentation. The new bracket is available now and lists for $150.00. The StarBoard T-15XL, since its introduction last year, has proved to be popular in a number of presentation situations from boardrooms to classrooms. Connected to a PC and a projector, the T-15XL allows the user to run and annotate any computer software application without losing eye contact with one’s audience. The panel image, which remains clearly visible even in darkened environments, can be projected up to any size, which makes the T-15XL ideal for lecture halls or large auditoriums. The lightweight, 15" ergonomic T-15XL features XGA (1024x768) resolution with superb color and contrast. A thin screen eliminates glare and parallax error, assuring effortless, accurate operation. The StarBoard family includes the StarBoard P-Series Interactive Plasma Displays, often used in boardroom or small classroom applications and is ideal for rich media conferencing; the StarBoard F-Series Interactive Whiteboards, popular for K-12 and small business applications; the StarBoard T-Series Interactive Tablet Displays, which are widely used with projectors in lecture halls or larger rooms or otherwise on their own for interactive training and education; the wireless, portable, low-cost StarBoard BT-1 System, and the StarBoard BT-1 Bluetooth Tablet that complements other StarBoard systems offering educators, trainers and presenters a mobile alternative for system control. All StarBoard presentation technologies are powered by StarBoard Software’s intuitive icon-driven user-interface. The software enables presenters and educators to easily operate and annotate right over Windows applications or digital video on the plasma display. Inherent networking software enables the StarBoard systems to easily communicate with other StarBoard systems and allows for simultaneous viewing and annotation by multiple systems connected either locally or across the Internet. Five different electronic ink types provide a large palette of attractive and eye-catching colors to make annotations stand out on the display and add life to the presentation.
